edit - this is super bullshit because their article submissions page still says 250 minimum.

They need to update their guidelines on their website, then.

So are my articles that are "in review" that are only 250 words long not going to be accepted? Or is this only for articles that are submitted after the change?

Is it even worth using Ezinearticles anymore? First a reduction in linkjuice and now 400 word minimums?

I wouldn't write an article that is less than 400 words anyway but that move by ezine was due to the change in Google's algorithm I am guessing.

They were also saying that it will now take even longer to get your articles reviewed.

    What's the estimate now?

I've found it takes from 3-10 days currently (non-premium member) depending on the niche.

They have lower rankings, potentially a nofollow tag, going to reject more content, and require it to be much longer.

While I will submit all 400+ word articles there, I wouldn't make it a priority by any means like I used to. If I have content written, I'm not waiting X days to be posted and approved on EzineArticles before blasting it out elsewhere like I have in the past.

Who knows if they will ever recover?

If so, I might put more effort into their stricter standards.

I do hope for the best as it's a site that has made me thousands of dollars in the past, but I'm not too optimistic at the moment.

I regret putting so much effort into that site when I first started out.

Man they got hit by that Algo change googs did. Thou shalt not mess with the money. Ezine is making sure the adsense money stay flowing. They are not the only game in town though. They are just the one every imer and their mamma shouted about in every ebook laying around on your hard drive.

They have gotten uptight like buzzle always was. Well at least to me !

Word. Buzzle started to suck like a year or so ago when they got all strict about stuff.

So what decent article directories are left now? 99% of them are worthless crap. Is hubpages still decent?

The days of ezine articles are numbered. For real....

Google made them Big G's bitch . Besides...lately I have been scraping articles from EZA and the quality of overspun shit was horrible. It seemed like they didn't have any kindof approval whatsoever. I wonder if they srtict it up now...but either way it's too late for them

Yeah, it has become more strict to say the least. Longer review time and hard to get things approved now. The G must of gave them a good talkin to or a spankin, one or the other.

There's only so many ways you can write about the same thing without it being somewhat similar to a previous article you may have written, even though the new one is informative and original. Which is one thing now their certainly becoming anal about at the moment and reject now if it's even remotely similar. Tips, techniques, methods, subject matter etc.

Not only that, but you risk losing visitors/traffic by veering off topic or outside your normal hot buttons within a niche which becomes pretty useless when affiliate marketing.

Ezines been Tbagged by the G, and it's not looking to pretty

Yeah, I've been waiting much longer than usual for approval, and I'm talking 1000-1500 word articles. Perhaps it's a good thing, well, if they can hold onto any ounce of credibility. We'll see, I guess.

Well, there goes my "write a 500 word article with two segments for a paid directory, then re-write and split the article in half, to submit two 250 wrd articles to EZA" concept, into retirement. It might be possible to reverse the idea, though, and write a 500 word article for EZA, then split it and rewrite to get paid upfront for the same content by submitting it as two articles to AC.

They are trying to improve the quality of their website. I believe that ezinearticles is not just for getting backlinks. You can also always get good traffic to your site from there. Just make sure you write articles of between 400 and 500 words. Do not write too much. Don't write tool little. Let those who visit ezinearticles see the need to visit your site for more information. That is where they will discover your affiliate products.

Those who will really suffer are those who are really desperate to get backlinks. EZA is gets more than a million page views daily. Their adsense money will not stop.
