I'm planning on building a site in a national competitive niche. The thing is,the first 3-4 websites all of them haves PR higher then 2 and 2 years+ of age.

I was thinking to buy a new emd and an old aged one with some PR.

When should I redirect the old one to my new emd? As soon as i make the purchase, not even index the emd or add content,or should I index the emd first, add some articles and then do the 301 redirect from the old domain?

As I know, this should give my new site some age and PR,maybe some link juice if i'm lucky, but i don't know the propper moment to do it.

You want to create a Wordpress blog on the aged domain, create unique content, blast the site to get it indexed, then do the 301 redirect to you EMD

So basically I'll build the site on the aged domain. After a while...let's say a week or 2 I move everything from the aged domain to the new EMD,content layout etc,and then do the 301 redirect?

    Yes,I'm aware of that,Thank you!

    In the sandbox. Again.
Do this the way it would be done in a legit scenario.

Set up the old domain and have it indexed
Add both domains to Google Webmaster Tools
Copy the content to the new domain
Tell GWT the content has moved to the new domain
301 the old domain to the new domain

Since i'm looking to buy an expired domain with age and PR,guess there isn't other way beside finding one that haven't been deindexed, and i'll just follow your scenario from here, right?

Edit: I noticed you told me to copy the content from the old site,to the new one. This mean,i'll have to build the old one first, and then get to the EMD?
