I have been aggressively using scrapebox to build links back to my site. I went to check my comments list on my site for the first time in 1 month, and there were a bunch of comments needing approval back to my own site.

So you have a bunch of trackbacks to go through and delete?

    How is this backfiring exactly?

I spammed my own blog. I guess that means I'm ranking for at least some of my target keywords :)
