Over the past week and a half I've tried everything beneficial that I could think of to increase the ranking of my website which is on the 14th result. Here are just a number of things I've tried:

1. Made 7 more web 2.0s and updated my older 15 web 2.0s with a new post each
2. Bought 1,000 contextual links and sent them to my web 2.0s, then bought 10,000 gsa links and sent them to the contextual links
3. On page SEO, added more pictures and increased the word count of my article to 1,000 words, page loading speed is fine, alt text for all images has my keyword, also added an about me and privacy policy to the site
4. Sent e-mails requesting backlinks from authority websites in my niche
5. Created social bookmarks to my web 2.0s
6. Bought 300 tier 1 .edu links to my site and 4,700 tier 2 links to the tier 1 links, this package came from fiverr
7. Received 1,000 Xrumer backlinks to one of my web 2.0s as a giveaway on bhw

From what I can think of the only reasonable thing that I haven't done is buy PBN links, which I would rather not do since they are expensive. I've ensured that my on page SEO is as on point as possible and I have bought thousands and thousands of links. This website was created late October so it's about 2 months old. And all of these efforts have been implemented over the course of a week and a half. Prior to this I haven't worked on the site for a whole month due to in real life problems.

When is a good time to quit on this if things clearly aren't working out? I was thinking I'd give it 2 months and then assess the results at that point. At this point I honestly don't know what else I could be doing without spending anymore money (I do not have a PBN and I do not wish to buy PBN links so please don't mention this).

Ranking #14 without PBN links is heaven.

Get some PBN links and you will see the magic.

I can't afford PBN links though.

By the way I also live in Philly, I might've seen you on the streets at one point

Philadelphia is a big town... seeing him on the streets would be like finding Waldo.

Maybe buy a couple of PBN domains if you can't afford a service and build them yourself but he is probably correct... adding in some decent PBN links may get you moving in the right direction.

Wouldn't it be awesome if I could get a free PBN link?

But besides the PBN links what else could I do to get this moving up? The last thing I want to do is invest tons more money only to barely see results, or if I do see results it's a measly amount of like $5-$10 a day, that is not ideal.

Also, I can find Waldo on the streets of Philadelphia

You don't need money to push it into the top 10 if you have time on your hands. Write some really good articles
and search for guest post opportunities. Make sure other contributors are receiving do-follow links in the author
bio or articles themselves.

^That's free as per you dishing out money, and works.

Alright that's actually one thing I didn't try, I'll see if I can find some guest posting opportunities in my niche

Requesting a link from authority site? When I get these...khm..requests, I usually ask for a a picture. Of sender. With a shoe on their heads, so they can confirm that they are not robots.

Number 14 without any type of PBN is a damn good effort, especially in a couple of months.

Interesting username you have; PBNSurprise :)

A week and a half is very little time in the world of SEO. Give it 30-60 days and keep working during that time period and success will follow.

This coupled with what RabbitKing suggested are surefire to lead you to where you want to be.

With a few PBN links you should be on the first page given your case. Or if money is tight on your end, I would manually create more web2.0s and link them to your money site.

Don't give up so early.

you need more time, unlike coffee SEO isn't instant, just keep going and you'll get there. Never give up and you'll never fail!

It would be nice if Unicorns fed you peeled grapes as you lay in your hammock also.

Also, I can find Waldo on the streets of Philadelphia

Look up in the North East in Bustleton and see if you see him there.

He was there in 1979 when I lived near Fulmer and Bustleton.

Thanks for the support everyone. I will seek out guest post opportunities and continue to make web 2.0s and I will give it more time. I signed up for the waiting list for Leith's PBN that is coming out in 2016, if the discounts provided are good I will think about purchasing it, they'd have to be really good discounts though since I'm really stringent on not spending more money on this

Yes that would be nice, also that's pretty far. I usually spend most of my time in Center City, those were the streets I was referring to. Now that I've given some locational details out I'll wear a hat out that says PBNSurprise and see how many people stop me

So, if you see results you will make $5-$10 per day? Well, let's do some math. You could probably get a PBN set up for around $50-$80. That's 5-16 days of earnings. So basically you SHOULD (if your guesstimate is somewhat accurate) turn positive ROI within less than a month. That, to me, sounds like a solid investment.

Frankly, I'm not sure if buying PBN links would make me a steady $5-$10 a day. If I knew that for sure I wouldn't mind spending the cash.. since I'll just make it back anyway. Buying PBN posts are about $100-$200 by the way. Setting up a PBN doesn't lead to instant results.. probably takes months to get one set up

The worst case scenario is I buy the PBN links, and I end up making very few cash a day, like $3 a day, which would be a terrible investment.

Do not purchase PBN links dude. Being a popular PBN seller, I can give a name free of cost just for your effort (it would not be niche related but a high stats one which you would need to register yourself, host and build the backlink etc.).. that would just cost you the reg fee .. inform me on the day you need the domain.. and do not give up so quickly.. many of the old guys like us have been in the industry for nearly a decade (many seniors are probably for a lot more time) and have seen the ups and downs. Abandoning in between is the worst strategy possible in any online venture unless it is seriously loss incurring which is not your case as per your description. Achieve #14 without any PBN etc. is very good. And for Web 2.0s, I would recommend expired Web 2.0s (not because I am a very popular expired Web 2.0 seller but because some of them have better links and indexed ones.

Keep trying and do not give up so soon. If you have worked so hard, you just need to work a bit more and you should enter the top 10 soon and then move ahead from there.

OP I noticed you have edited your first post so I might have missed something that indicated the competition of the keyword you are going for, is this the case?

If not disregard these comments completely....

Ranking 14 without PBN links means nothing without knowing the keyword comp, I have stuff on the first page with nothing but SER or Web 2.0 + SER. I am not trying to deflate your achievement but a lot of people post crap on here without having any experience and it causes more harm than good.

If you have time could you please check if your T1 web 2.0s are ranking in the top 300 for the keyword you are aiming for?

Also, I see no reason at all for you to have added an extra post to the 15 web 2.0s. They had stuck on their platform and were doing good, I don't subscribe to the more posts on the property makes it stronger theory at all and think those 15 posts would have been better served being put on a new web 2.0 platform you currently don't have a link from.

For now stop pointing services at your money site, especially crap from fiverr. I personally don't think that .edu or .gov links offer any benefit over contextual links on a good platform these days so in my opinion that was money wasted.

What is your keyword usage percentage for your on page? Also what is your exact match anchor text percentage?

If I was you I would be looking at typing up some articles and posting them on new web 2.0 platforms that you currently don't have a link from.

Although PBNs do have their place they have kind of turned into a get out of jail card for the noobs and the BST sellers to jump on whenever anyone asks for help or has a problem ranking. Rather than going through a few of the regular things that maybe causing the problem they jump on the PBN band waggon and start preaching.
