So - you've set up a website. Its got content on it, it has been optimized for SEO and all of that jazz. How long do you wait until you wait until you start using links on the website? Especially high PR links?

Start with guest posts on related blogs. This is safe.

But WHEN? :D That is what I'm trying to figure out. My impatience wants it rank NOW :D Do I just need to cool off, and leave it for a month, or can I start by chucking a PR 5 link at it. This is one luxury with client websites: they're already aged, it is fantastic.

Once you have a reasonable amount of content, I wouldn't hold back from building certain types of links. Just control the volume and anchor text to make it look naturally.

Before you buy one PR5 link make sure you have at least 100 low PR links indexed be google.

^ Don't know where that shit comes from. Maybe hes thinking for diversity and to look natural? I don't think it's going to matter much. I'd agree with YoungCeasar, guest posting is as safe as it gets and it's extremely high quality. You can start guest posting immediately, it's not going to hurt your site and there's no golden rule with this stuff in my experience. There's no need to cool off and leave it for a month.

I've got my own links, I don't need to purchase them. I've found just a handful works well on aged websites, this is going to be my first experiment posting them on a brand new site. I heavily stagger them, its been working well - but again, for OLDER websites. I've found 2-5 high quality links with the right anchor text choices works infinitely better than my old strategies - it is a lot more more upfront though.

if your site has content on it, you can start building links...

especially high quality blog posts, homepage posts, etc. you don't really need to worry.

There is no certain amount of time, don't listen to that shit. I do it right away, I just personally spread it out some and it works for me.
