When can you say that using spun content is the right thing to do?

I provide content writing services. I've already lost count how many times I was asked if I accept orders that require spinning of content. I had to politely turn down such offers. I would have earned tens of thousands of dollars had I accepted such offers. Spinning of content does not match my definition of a high-quality content. I still don't have a crystal-clear idea about the value, if there's any, of using a spun content. My suggestion to these prospects is to allow us to manually re-write their articles if their intention is to keep the same story. Some followed my advice. Many chose to find article spinners.

Here's my question to fellow BHW members. Does the use of spun content have something to do with the lack of budget for a high-quality content or there's a value in it that I just haven't seen yet?

It works.

If people are doing tiered link building then those higher tiers can use spun content for spamming purposes.
Lower tiers and Money Site should have decent original content.
Nothing wrong in using spun content for spamming/using tools/churn n burn sites but there is a time and place for it.

Yes it saves money. Some people are just cheap. Some can't afford a writer. Some people know what they're doing when they use it. Some people don't. Some people are just experimenting. Some people sell the spun content as unique content.

There's dozens of reasons someone could use spun content.

Thank you for your comment, @Ste Fishkin. I agree that it maybe difficult to trust writers, especially agencies, especially if they are not proactive in informing their clients of their quality control processes.

Hi, @alwaysinvisible. That's what exactly happened to one of my clients 3 weeks ago. She bought $160.00 worth of pre-written articles. She didn't bother checking the articles on Copyscape.

I've heard that Google can now recognized spun text and that this can count as a negative signal. Anyone else heard the same thing?
