Do you guys use your real information? I'm thinking if I should I use my real information when I register, unless I'm required to? Or is there an option to hide your information from whois searches?

I figured that I don't want to be traced (especially where I live) if I'm basically using BH methods.

Man. Just use name cheap.. Free Whois protection. Or if you use go daddy or something else just use a fake handle. What's the worst that can happen?

Use real info unless you have something to hide. As mentioned above free whois protection with namecheap or just purchase it as an addon usually arou $2.99 a year.

    Haha thanks all.

I was thinking something nasty might happen since I'm gonna basically be spamming people via email submit. I don't wanna get reported or tracked down so easily.

If the anti-spam laws are very strict in your country, use fake information when registering. Don't be afraid of normal people coming to find you, but the government can find you even if you have private whois.

Yes, if you know you're going to be doing questionable black hat activity on a domain before you buy it, then I think it is wise to protect yourself. 99 out of 100 times nothing will happen, but one can never be too careful...

    Thanks for the tips all.

I live in the US...it seems like anti-spam laws are nonexistent. I guess I shouldn't be so paranoid about the FBI knocking on my front door.

I'll fake my information just to be safe.

Has anyone actually been penalized by using a BH site and faced charges, or does anyone know someone who has?
