What I mean is that I know some ebay seellers that sell phones will often times ask their buuyers something along the lines of. hey you boought a phone from me, I was wondering if you would be interested in seelling your old phone to me. I will even pay for shipping.

I seell about 50 to 60 phones a month but am not entirely sure how to go about this method. I know in ebay's rules it states buying and selling out of ebay this way is against the rules However obviously peopel are getting around them. I was wondering if I send 60 messages a month to all my buyers through ebay messanger requesting this will I get flagged?, banned, anything at all?. or is it simply not really enforced on power sellers and such.

Or am I going about this wrong?. Are you suppose to not do this within the ebay messenger and rather send directly to the email through paypal and create a sort of email list??. Does anyone do this with any Items. What is your success. What are your failures?. How does it work exactly for the most optimal results?. Thanks.

Instead of messaging them send them that message in a packing slip with the new phone and say "Send in your old phone for a discount, message "ebay username" for more details"

I think this is probably the way to go with it. Think about it for a second. If you message them directly someone can easily report that to ebay and they have hard evidence against you. If someone gets a slip in their package saying "go here" or "email me @ this address", ebay will never know. And for someone to report you, they would really have to go out of their way to tell ebay that you broke their terms by sending this slip directing you elsewhere, etc. Even if people knew that you weren't supposed to be doing that, they wouldn't take all that time to ever even report that.

If you send a packing slip directing them your website that buys phone (this would be my personal spin on it) or you ask them to email you at an email address included on a slip, I think you have a better chance at staying safe.

Once you sell an item on ebay, you instantly have access to their email. Just email them after and make a private sale.

Or have them list their phone on eBay as a BIN.

Best thing to do is include a nice letter inside their package offering to buy their old phone with your contact information.
