Nobody knows for sure. Sometimes you can see the effect after one month and sometimes it can take up to 4 to 6 months. On the other hand, sometimes you won’t see any effects.

The google ranking transition filter makes this time frame random. It could be a couple of weeks to 6+ months. It depends on a lot of things as to how the ranking transition filter responds to external links.
But generally for good quality natural looking links I see results in 4-6 weeks.

If the target and source are both trusted, it can be very fast. In matter of days.
However, this is rarely the case because everything can turn to spam and get corrupted so engines are suspicious of all.
Also, there are algorithms in place that will artificially hold the backlink's influence or show downward ranking, testing how the author will react. If it's a PBN link for example, author will freak out and remove the link, sending very bad signal.
3 weeks is a good average and a starting point.

It is not fixed time. It can take some days or even weeks. One important thing is that you should wait for final results even after initial movement.

Once the backlinks are Indexed on google, You'll get results within a week but the changes also depend on backlinks quality.

Once it gets indexed, You will see the result. Sometimes it won't work out because of the competitor and also quality of the backlink sites. Somehow, within three to four months, you have some positive impact in your site ranking. if those are long lasting and also quality

backlinks from high quality sites like Medium or Forbes will make impact sooner than backlinks from blog comments, profile links, or low quality PBN.

If the link is quality one , it would be indexed soon , as index it would surely show good rankings mostly within hours , but shall be really quality ones from guest post sites and more !

It is not instant unless you get a link from wikipedia. In very rare cases, it will be instant.
