    Hi,

    Just to inform you all.

I availed the free hosting offer of 1 year by WHDMS being given in the freebie section of BHW. I used it for an affiliate website I was just playing around with, and I found that it has been hacked today. I checked with one of my friend in US who also availed the freebie, their website also got hacked. And If you google search "whdms hacked?" there are many posts of Website hosted by whdms.com being hacked in last few days.

    Regards

Just don't create Rumour on the site,
Just using Freeweb hosting doesn't leads to get hacked...

    • Never store credentials, like your FTP password, on your local PC.
    • Use strong passwords and try to set up difficult-to-guess usernames (such as "av21bx" instead of "Alex").
    • If you use FTP, consider switching to a more secure solution, like ssh/SCP/SFTP.
    • Make sure to check your website frequently for web application vulnerabilities and malicious code. Vigilance can protect your visitors.
    • Install only reputable plugins. Make a list of all third party plugins you use, and be sure to update them regularly. Both the software you use to run your website and all your plugins should be kept current!
    • Set appropriate file permissions on your web server.
    • Make sure you regularly scan your local PC with at least one, and preferably more than one, antivirus engine. Antivirus software for your PC won't detect website infections, but using an infected local machine can cause a website to become infected, so it's important to protect your PC, too!
If you have taken care of all the above points , you can point a finger at a web-host. By the way Pointing to your suggestion , I can give you right away 1000s of domains hosted in Go-daddy got hacked....

I never said "Free hosting" services get website hacked. I was talking about the specific web host "whdms" offering free hosting service. During the first week of this month many website in their servers got hacked. So, I removed my website from that hosting. Two totally unrelated website, one mine, and other a friend from USA got hacked. I google searched, and found that during that week many other websites were also hacked. Put date range of first week of january in Google and search "whdms hacked" and you will find more people saying the same.
