Hey, my names Dan and I have been dabbling the IM game for about a year now.
My interest was peaked by all the usual "make 10k a month... just 47.77" type offers made by these so-called "gurus". In the beginning I'd buy an 1 ebook for every 50 pages looked at. I soon realized these ebooks didn't offer that much when it came to practical and thorough explanations.
Eventually I got suckered into the QYAO scam.
One good thing came out of it though. I began meeting some blackhat artists on the forums there. We were all pretty small time. Mostly interested in just making a couple hundred bucks a month.
Eventually I was introduced to the newsroom.com and their CPM offer. 1$ per 1000 page views of news articles.
Being young and niave in this game, I bought a domain, got some nice sized hosting, bought traffic from one of those fake traffic providers, and set up my page with 10 articles.
I had made 800$ in about 5 days. I was on top of the world.
And then it happened, the TOS were changed. Now similar to google, they can judge whether your site use of the articles is "relevant".
I was pissed. But luckily, they still paid me my money, probably because the TOS did not specify any such nonsense when I had joined. Plus they had also intsituted and point system to go along with the money. I wound up earning a nintendo wii with madden 08 and tiger woods 08 AND two ipod nanos. Got them early in December and flipped it all on ebay for $500.
Spent most the dough, and wound losing what I had left trying to promote projectpayday.com
Now I've found this forum, which is awesome, and can't wait to get back in to the game.
