hey guys,
i’ve worked on 300+ whatsapp api numbers in the last year across ecom, real estate, and lead gen. here’s what i’ve seen that really gets numbers banned in 2025.

1. rejected templates
keep submitting promo-heavy or badly written templates, and your trust score drops. even if it gets approved later, the damage is done.
how to avoid: write clean, relevant messages. don’t force promos into utility category.

2. sending without opt-in
sending to leads who never opted in? even if they’re old contacts, meta tracks this now. cold messages = high risk.
how to avoid: use proper opt-in methods like forms, c2wa ads, or website triggers.

3. too many blocks
a few blocks on a fresh number is enough to get you flagged. most ppl don’t even realise it until it’s too late.
how to avoid: warm up your number. always mention your brand in the first message so it looks real.

4. sending too fast
blasting 5000 msgs on day 1 from a new number is a death sentence. meta tracks sudden spikes.
how to avoid: start with 50-100 per day, increase slowly over time.

5. bad bm or flagged sim (IMP)
if your business manager has past violations or your number is recycled, your account is already under watch.
how to avoid: use clean bms and fresh, unused numbers only.

6. wrong template category
people still try using “utility” for marketing to get faster approvals. meta’s not dumb anymore.
how to avoid: use the right category. utility for service updates, marketing for offers, etc.

7. dumping too many numbers in one bm
running 10+ numbers from the same bm looks shady to meta. it’s a common reason for silent bans.
how to avoid: spread numbers across accounts or use sub-bms.

###Quick wrap

most bans i’ve seen this year were avoidable. it’s not like 2022 where you could send anything. follow a warmup, use real opt-ins, and keep your bm clean.

if you’ve been banned or want to share your experience, drop a reply. i’ve also got a few templates that worked well, can share if anyone’s stuck.

sorry youre giving feedback in another post about passing marketing as utility and here you say its nor recommendable how s that ?!

That lines up with everything I’ve been seeing—WhatsApp really does bury numbers that jump straight into marketing without the proper groundwork. If you blast out promo templates, skip the opt-ins or push too many messages too fast, Meta’s automated scoring system flags you almost immediately. Even something as subtle as using the wrong template category or piling a dozen numbers under one BM can trigger a silent ban. The best fix is to slow things down: warm up each line with genuine service updates, make sure every recipient opted in via a clear form or click-to-wa button, and treat your first few messages like real conversations rather than ads. If anyone needs those templates that got you through approvals, I’d love to see them too—might save a lot of headaches for the rest of us.
