Whats your success rates with RSS Submissions?

I would like to know, what sort of success rates have you seen with RSS Feed submissions and how do you usually use them, i.e.

1. Do you use them to submit mainly your own content

or

2. Do you use them to submit pages, where you have posted your links.

How do the results compare to say Article Marketing and Social Marketing, in terms of time investment and quality of traffic?

I use feeds for backlink indexing. Can't really say how much it helps as it's one small part of my campain and it's a method that takes time.
