OK, SO YOU'VE JUST BUILT A NEW WEBSITE. NOW WHAT DO YOU DO?

Hey guys, when I'm getting my hustle on I can churn out 3-4 very quality websites a month, but the hard part for me is always doing the work to ensure that I'll eventually make that first page rank.

Here is my list of procedures so far, and believe me they will be comparably weak to your's most likely, but thats the point of this post, so everyone can strengthen.

    1. Build Site,
    2. Install Analytics
    3. Install Site Map Generator
    4. Add sitemap to Webmasters tools.
    5. Add to folked.com
    6. Add to aboutus.org
    7. Search out free directories that niche on my niche and submit to those.

Thats my most basic list without submitting articles to article directories.

What the hell is it? A site tells us nothing. Is it a normal "website"? Is it a blog? A forum? Even better what do you specialize in? What is the type?

That's like asking a car enthusiast. "I have a new car, how do I make it faster?" If that were the question I would say "I wouldn't know, but I would assume it has wheels....... that's about all I can bet on...."

    C'mon, more info.....

I just thought of one of my practices I left out.
I like to create a adwords ad for the new page because I think it helps it get indexed faster.

no specifics. but if we must lets say, not blogs, but sales websites, community websites, informational websites, hybrids.

I generally start with keyword research using micro niche finder as i can use it to find google cost per click, msn commercial intent and searches. It also helps find affiliate programs. Generally i use about 3 different keyword tools at any time to generate a whole array of keyword mixes.

Once i have found my most profitable keywords (meaning what im most likely to make the most money with) i start to generate content around this such as articles and videos.

I use a plugin along with aweber to capture peoples email addresses and sign them up to my list.

Once i have about 10 - 20 pages of content i start to promote my site using article marketing, articles to webmasters, videos, podcasts and bookmarking. SOmetmes i use yahoo answers as well.

Generally i try to spend more time building links than adding pages to my site. I also use a page to presell if im promoting affiliate programs. Another thing i have tried is using video to actually walk people through buying the product by showing them you doing it yourself. This worked really well for me.

    hope this helps

Im very new to this so forgive me if i'm wrong, but, i took your advice and submitted my site to aboutus.org, and it seems the links are nofollow, which would make them next to useless?

Only to google. Most all other engines still follow and value the link.
