I just recently bought Paul Arden's book "Whatever you think think the opposite", and I have to say it's an amazing source of creative thinking and inspiration.

    I highly recommend it.

It has hundreds of inspirational words of wisdom in there, but my favoutrite would have to be:

"The problem with making sensible decisions, is that so is everyone else."
    --Paul Arden

This has become my life and business philosophy.
So what's your favourite inspirational/thought provoking quote?

I like what Sir Winston Churchill once said,
"If you are going through Hell, keep going."
So don't lose heart in whatever you do,
and march on despite all the difficulties
    and hurdles ahead.

"We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender!!!!"

Not at all actually. Here's the basis:

What we believe - determines what we make true.

It's our version of truth that creates our reality.

For example, take religion for example.

(Note: All religion is fine with me - if this bothers you remember it's an example)

The fact is depending on the structure, orientation, dogma, and morality that you learn in the church is going to determine what YOU make true.

For example, a Christian is going to have a different "truth" than that of an atheist, Muslim, LDS, and so on.

What we believe determines our truth and it really doesn't matter if that "truth" is good, bad, or totally insane, it's our truth. If you believe that space aliens have traveled from thousands of light years away to suck out your brains with a bendy straw to put in their pineapple martinis then that becomes very real to you and the truth in your life because your mind makes it real.

It works for inspirations, convictions, basis of reality, religious beliefs, and so on. What we believe we project outward, and it determines our future regardless of there is any substance to it - it's very real to us.

That's what it says to me although these may not be the best examples, I could write a book on this topic (and considering it) as I've done a lot of research on it, but unfortunately don't have time to truly delve into it in the manner it deserves at the present time.

Does that help WP? Thanks for the response.

    @wealthy199

Props on the thread ... indeed a good one.

I don't want to alarm anyone ... hehe, but I am major self help aficionado (oh god ...not that word). Well, take it for what it's worth...

I am not exactly Tony Robbins, but there is much to be said about the power of positive thinking/ positive attitudes vs. negative thoughts and attitudes. ultimately above and beyond , life is TRULY what you make it.

I have a ridiculously large library of self help books. When I started to read various authors and realized that my own internal beliefs/thought were parallel with these authors. It's really the same of other like minded individuals culminating here.

You come to the realization.... Wow, these people think like I do, this must be a place for me. Theres nothing really scientific about it.

All that said .... out of many quotes that I can think of, I would surmise my favorite inspirational/thought provoking quote:

He's got more then one good one.... so I will mention one more:

    Just a few incredible Authors / Philosopher's / Thinkers

    Brian Tracy
    Napoleon Hill
    Stephen Covey
    Tony Robbins
    Dr. Wayne Dyer
    Zig Ziglar
    Robert Kiyosaki
    And ... Many more ...

    Cheers ;)

    Here's a few:

"In the beginning, God created Man . . . then Man returned the favor."

I am not afraid of dying - I just don't want to be there when it happens."

"Life is short - Eat dessert first."

"Let a smile be your umbrella . . . and you'll get a mouthful of rain!"

"Never take life seriously. You won't get out of it alive anyway."

"It takes 46 muscles to frown but only 4 to flip 'em the bird."

"What you call dog with no legs?
Doesn't matter what you call him, he ain't gonna come."

"Always remember you're unique . . . just like everyone else."

"Everyone needs believe in something. I believe I'll have another beer."
