    Domain's SEO?

If it is your competitor's site, you can use ahrefs and semrush to check their backlinks and Ranked keywords data.

I have full premium access over Ahrefs and SEMrush. If you need help let me know inbox.

It really depends if you are talking about your own domain or your competition. For my own domains, I regularly (pretty much daily) use Google Analytics and Google Search Console (via Search Console Helper). Other tools I use less often (ahrefs, semrush and moz).

What exactly are you wanting to check? "Check their SEO" is a pretty broad and subjective question.

I do local SEO and longtail. I can pretty much use Google and viewing the sites directly to get an idea on what I'm against. Maybe my niches are small, or irrelevant. I haven't purchased a tool since Market Samuri and I do good. There's no secret, just experience and common sense.

You should focus on the low hanging fruit. It's easier to get. You don't need tools for that. Some great suggestions have already been recommended above.

    Hey OP!

I run an SEO agency and have tried almost every tool out there over the past 5 years.

From my experience the tools below are what I use for competitive analysis and keyword research.

    1. Ahrefs to check out competitors backlink profiles, anchor text ratio etc.

    2. Semrush to get an idea of the keywords the competition is mainly targeting through both PPC and SEO.

    3. And finally I check out the authority metrics of the Top 10 competitors via a combination of Moz, ahrefs, and majestic.

So far this protocol and strategy has provided the best insight on the competition and the overall niche difficulty!

Warm Regards and best of luck!
    ~Mark
