I'm a newbie and I didn't see this in the stickies I read, so I thought I'd ask the gang here...
If it is your competitor's site, you can use ahrefs and semrush to check their backlinks and Ranked keywords data.
I have full premium access over Ahrefs and SEMrush. If you need help let me know inbox.
Moz site explorer
It really depends if you are talking about your own domain or your competition. For my own domains, I regularly (pretty much daily) use Google Analytics and Google Search Console (via Search Console Helper). Other tools I use less often (ahrefs, semrush and moz).
For other sites, not mine.
What exactly are you wanting to check? "Check their SEO" is a pretty broad and subjective question.
I do local SEO and longtail. I can pretty much use Google and viewing the sites directly to get an idea on what I'm against. Maybe my niches are small, or irrelevant. I haven't purchased a tool since Market Samuri and I do good. There's no secret, just experience and common sense.
You should focus on the low hanging fruit. It's easier to get. You don't need tools for that. Some great suggestions have already been recommended above.
I run an SEO agency and have tried almost every tool out there over the past 5 years.
From my experience the tools below are what I use for competitive analysis and keyword research.
1. Ahrefs to check out competitors backlink profiles, anchor text ratio etc.
2. Semrush to get an idea of the keywords the competition is mainly targeting through both PPC and SEO.
3. And finally I check out the authority metrics of the Top 10 competitors via a combination of Moz, ahrefs, and majestic.
So far this protocol and strategy has provided the best insight on the competition and the overall niche difficulty!
Warm Regards and best of luck!
I use Google.
Our team have some self created tools
These are also basically crawlers and use API's of others also
Even this guy is very much right
Hey Mark you can do all of that with SerpWorx without even leaving the Google search results.
Now, this is something i'll do myself. I think Ahref, Semrush and Moz are okay, but for keywords deeper research, i use Keywordresearcher. Great tools
Hello Rich, am currently checking out SerpWorx... Do you by any means owns it?
Hi Steve, do you own 123movies???
That is my most favorite free movie watching website.
Yes I do .. (don't want to hijack the thread though)
Hi Wisdom Kid, I am not the owner, I am SEO Strategist of 123movies group
of moz, ahref and majestic: which has the best correlation about the backlink rating and google ranking based on your experience?
I would definitely like to discuss Mark and interested in your services.
