So we have come across a lot of marketers making their courses for free due to the pandemic for instance digitalmarketer and others offering their course content for free for a month landing page, run ads, provide videos/images, etc for free consultants opening their calendar for free mini-coaching agencies offering to help build la sessions software companies removing their limitations of their free plans curious about how this will play into their current positioning as well as into their positioning once things start to stabilize again. Is this setting them up as an authority in their market because of their generosity ? Will they just get flooded with moochers who will not be able to afford their services regardless? Will they come out of all of this in a lower position because of the price shock of when they go back to regular pricing? From what I see, if you are a brand, then putting all your stuff on sale like this will attract a lower quality buyer (one which the brand isnt familiar with atm) and could alienate your regular buyers because they feel the calue of the brand deminishing. On the other had, being charitable can help the perception of the brand. I feel left in a vicious cycle of whether this helps or not.
