Whats up with High pr..zero content websites?

I have seen a recent trend on forums....people selling domains that they claim
have never been "dropped"... the domain has a pr of 3 or 4 and there is no content...its always parked.

How are these domains useful?...How do they attain that pr without any
content?
I used to think that content was a requisite for high pr.

People have been doing this for a long time. The CLAIM they've never been dropped but, most of the time, you check their registration date and it was recent.

The thing about these domains is that the PR will usually disappear after a short period of time and the buyer will be SOL. Once in a while, you will see a domain that has good backlinks and the PR will stay if you work on the site a little. Those are the only ones worth it.

Ow ok...No wonder. Ill stay away from them then.
Here I was...thinking id get a pr4 domain for $100!.... lol

They're worth it sometimes. Just do research on it. Look at it's backlinks closely, see if they're permanent or if they'll be taken down after a month or so. If it has good backlinks that are bound to stay, it's worth a buy.

Just checked....BTW there's one listing for hundreds of such websites yesterday on sitepoint (PR1 to PR6). Most have less than 10 backlinks...not worth it then.

Unless they're high PR, permanent one-way links, then they aren't worth it.

Create mass backlink is easy using black hat methods, but good PR backlink is worthy to buy. Decide it yourself.
