What's the value of a high PR forum profile link when the actual link page has no PR? ?

Hi, I've been working my way through a High PR list of forum profiles I got hold of recently - there's a lot here. But the thing is most of the actual pages which get my URL on them have no actual PR - so is this still worth doing? Would appreciate some thoughts....

The profiles still carry some link juice from the main page which usually has the PR on.

A link on a page with an actually high PR gives the biggest value (big surprise)

A link on a page with a PR0 but a high domain PR, gives you more value compared to a low PR domain. How much can only g. engineers tell you, but do aim for high PR domains, as they often have more trust.

    It's very hard to quantify.
As Chrisss said, it's going to be better than a PR0 link from a PR0 domain though!

Agreed...xrumer and scrapebox links don't mean anything anymore for competitive keywords.

If you use tools like SEO Spyglass it will tell you that a link from a PR nothing page that's on a high PR domain has a some weight, just a tad more than a PR nothing page from a PR nothing domain...which is worth what it is...a PR nothing link.

At the end of the day any link is good from a page that doesn't have too many outbound links. That's something that should be looked at sometimes over PR. Sometimes....

At the end of the day you are getting a link from a potentially high pagerank domain with decent trust rank. Xrumer is effective if used properly, as is Scrapebox.

Both tools are still widely used today and extremely effective if used properly. A Fiverr scrapebox blast or xrumer blast won't get you the same results as a truly effective one from someone that knows what they are doing.
