If you look up the search term "Lipozene" (without quotes)

the first site you see is:

    Code:
    http://www.lipozenescam.org/
But what is this guy doing to get that kind of rank? He has the 2010 Wordpress theme installed, he doesn't even have his posts categorized. He is PR1 while his competitors are PR2.

Anyone know how to rank a site like this guy? Seems to me like he ordered a few articles and bought some backlinks and he ended up on the first page somehow.

Traffic Travis rates this search as "Very Difficult."

OpenSiteExplorer can find 4206 inbound links to his site. Lots of them are ********. His authority is also pretty high.

Also, anything in the Pharma category is kind of odd.

But if he had good backlinks, wouldn't his pagerank be higher than 1?

It depends when the links got to his site. Maybe his site hasn't had a PR update since update.

Hey its better to work smart than hard right? This guy seemed to rank for a tough keyword with hardly any work.

But why is he ranked higher than the other websites with PR2?

What type of links are they? Profiles? Comments? Bookmarks? Blog Posts? Other?

Page rank does not mean anything.

    He went all out.

    Xrumer, Scrapebox, High PR, etc.

I think he meant ranking #1 on Google has nothing to do with Google PageRank.

    Nope.

The word "Lipozene" appears on his very first page 97 times. His competitors have the word 10 - 20 times.

Whatever he is doing obviously seems to work. Which is suprising given that this niche is maybe not the easiest, his site is crap, he is KW stuffing and uses everything from xrumer, scrapebox etc....

I bet if i would do what he does i would drop in rankings instead of increasing...so i have no clue how he did this...

I'm interested to see if he stays there. I've been sifting through some of his backlinks, and finding some interesting stuff. Maybe nothing of importance, but I'd say that it's worth taking a closer look at.

Most likely... though occasionally google still allows these sites to (seemingly randomly) rank for a short awhile

His site will disappear fairly soon.
Also I expected a looooooot better backlinks if someone was claiming it was a "very difficult" keyword. This keyword appears to be a joke to rank for.
Lots of sites with <200 page links (any niche with so many pages ranking is generally medium/low comp)

    when looking at sites like
    Code:
    lipozene-reviews.org
It's obvious this niche is at best "low" competition. You've been on this forum since 2010 though, I find it incredible you couldn't figure this out yourself.

The keyword lipozene is classified as medium competition according to google keyword tool.

The design of his website has nothing to do with his ranking. It has to do with a lot of factors such as unique articles, SEO, backlinks, etc.

When people online are searching for information that can help change something about themselves or trying to find the best treatment (i.e. diarrhea or cold sore), the last thing they will pay attention to is the design of the website. I'm not trying to talk $h!+ to the OP, its just my opinion that the design has nothing to do with ranking of this particular website. The 32K+ visitors per month that go to his websites are most likely looking for the information about lipozene. The webmaster is simply providing those information and probably getting a lot of money from his lipozene related affiliates.

He has lipozene in the domain, and the content looks 100% unique...ill bet he pounded it with a good link pyramid, but OSE and google have NOT updated his true rank yet...but I think google also goes a backwards dance where they put new sites up front, and see if people stay on them or bounce right off...

That has nothing to do with SEO ranking difficulty, only adwords position competition.
