Someone offered me a great amount of money for my Facebook page and I am interested to sell it.
The thing is that I am afraid it's just a scam. He offered to pay via Paypal / Western Union.

We are from different countries so cash in hand is not an option.

    What do you think?

Well if he's agreeing to send western union then you'll have much more control then he does paypal I believe as long as he sends the money as a gift I don't think hell be able to get it back

    The safest way is escrow.

I would tread lightly when it comes to these deals. Gilder is correct about having them send the money as a gift to prevent them from refunding it, although in the event that this person really is looking to buy your Facebook account, then they could also assume that you are scamming them by having them pay as a gift.

If you decide to use the normal Paypal merchant option, then be prepared to keep an accurate record of all of your correspondences as well as proof that the account has been transferred over (I'm not entirely sure how Paypal would react to selling a Facebook account since it's against Facebook's TOS).

Paypal is safe as long as you have the evidences of you conversations proving that he will buy your item. You can just capture your conversation via screen shot and you could also ask for a copy of his ID just to be sure that you have the aces if ever he'll try to make a dispute after getting your item.

However I would prefer western union as long as he is willing to send money first.

Most probably a scam I get them in my pages inboxes all the time offering to pag big money eg $10000
When I say cash only they try to groom me(gain my trust) but I insist on cash and then they give up
They always say they will pay via paypal
If they say they are in another country I tell them to get a plane. If they can afford t pay me $10000 for a FB page then it means they must be able to make $$$$ from the page and in that case they will be happy to pay for a return flight. If I wanted to buy a FB page that I was going to make a load of money from I would 100% fly anywhere to buy it.....
