I usually enter the URL in my browser, but have found it doesn't always mean the domain isn't taken.

A few times I've had some bullshit experiences where I KNOW Goddaddy has stolen my domain I was searching for. Thus, I stopped searching via their search tool.

    Anyone have a better method?

I go to name.com and start putting in domain name ideas. I usually end up in a totally different direction from where I start, but name.com also has a name suggestion and google search suggestion tool.

Use namecheap bulk search tool. They won't steal your domain name ideas, unlike those Gofaggy thieves. ;)

    Thanks Guys

I think i'm gonna check for some domaining scripts and tools to search for domains as well.

There's nothing like not having to go thru someone else.(unecessarily I should say...)

How do they know to steal your domain name? Are there people checking through every search entered?

I like using DomainTools.com when checking out domain names. I've never lost a domain using them to check out domains over the years. They have a good rep.

NOT "people" - There's plenty of custom software out there that can be set up to check all the searches thru some registrars. Some can be very sneaky.

While I have no issues with GD, I don't search for domains thru them unless I plan to buy right away. ;)

I think this is probably the best option next to hosting your own scripts from your own servers...
