What's up guys, so I'm wondering what is the real factor for youtube videos to get traffic? I've read so many different legends bout that, and honestly I don't believe if anyone already figured it out. The fact that I could say its true on my example and from experience is HR VIEWS. Pumping just a little amount of views as soon as you published the video gives it a good boost. Then it's up to youtube (or more likely up to viewers) if the video will perform well. But what's the factor? - likes and comments - I didn't see any improvement at all, getting likes&comments for my videos (while getting views in the same time) - impressions CTR - I often see panels mention that - well, one of my videos, which was massively promoted by youtube (youtube was recommending it a lot for first few days), had one of the lowest impression ctr among all my videos - retention - well yes, the better retention, the video will definitely go further than the one which viewers quit from watching quickly. BUT I also had video that had much lower retention than one of my best vids (in terms of quality, the second one was getting like 2+ minutes organic retention) and still the video with lower retention gained few times more views! Bonus: as my niche is very specific, you could find two videos that are very similar to each other, almost the same. And that happened to me. The difference was, my channel isn't that big yet, and the other one which had similar video - is. Result ? Video on my channel is getting nice traffic, but it's 5k views now. The video on the other channel has over 150k ! So, don't worry if your channel don't blow up quickly. We don't really know what you need to do to gain massive traffic. Your videos might be very good, and still could not blow up (I tested it few times) while some other channel with similar video will get better results. But what's your idea on this guys ? Do you have any thoughts on this? PS. I'm not only talking about ranking your video. I talk about getting traffic generally, mostly from youtube promotiong your video to suggested/browse tab.
