of being able to give yourself rep? Just curious. I can't rep anyone else (don't know what the requirements are for that) but I can rep myself for some reason. Anyone wanna shed some light on why that makes sense?

u can't rep yourself, u can only rep the person who have the post in your thread or the thread in your post.

There is an option to rep yourself because, while it doesn't actually rep you, it allows you to see your total reputation and the reputation status of the particular post. This is standard among all vBulletin installs.
