What's the point of spinning articles again?

This whitehatter over at warrior forum screwed my head up again today by having a go at me saying that it is totally pointless to spin articles and that they have no time to discuss the matter with me.

You may ask why I was taking advice from the WF members but this one apparently makes 10k+ a month so in the past I have thought I could learn from them though not so much now it seems. I did get some good advice from this particular person compared to the other WF idiots though when I started.

I understand what they meant when they said there is no point in terms of duplicate content but we do it for other reasons right?

If it is for backlinks of backlinks of backlinks it would be poor form I presume to just have say 1 article and make a pyramid of 20 stacks high or whatever of the SAME article...that is, I presume at least one reason why we spin...

Then again who is reading them?

I imagine it would signal a red light in serps if there were like 50 of the same articles come up...I imagine a competitor might only be too happy to report such a thing...just guessing.

So those used to doing such things can you help clear it up for me?

The whitehatter says there is no point but they aren't doing the same things we are over here (they have told me several times that they only submit to ezine and maybe one other directory, only article 1000 words+) so I wanna check why it's done by BHers.

I can only tell you why I spin my articles. But first, I have to put in a disclaimer - I have never not spun my articles - so I don't have first hand experience comparing spinning vs not spinning.

My spun articles (40-90% spun) are for one reason - backlinks
If I get some traffic from them, that is just a bonus.

If my aim is to get traffic from an article, I am going to use a higher quality article and each one is completely unique for each submission to each site. No spinning.

When I talk about article submissions, I mean that I am blasting out a spun article to 4000 plus sites with the anticipation of getting 400 - 600 articles accepted over the course of a few days.

I spin my articles to try and make them unique and not leave an obvious backlink footprint in G's eyes. So that the backlinks count, G doesn't think I am link spamming, my articles don't wind up marking the sites that accept them as spammy sites. I don't want backlinks from them to get discounted and wind up in the supplemental search results.

And article submission sites accept spun articles that dont even make sense? I've been writing mine by hand, since, who in their right mind would accept something like these re-writers put out. And want my site to stay in serps forever. But I feel i'm missing out by not spinning.

Ye that's the thing, this person was telling me google doesn't give a crap about repeat articles and I was reading a few things which support this.

So to test it I have been using the AMR trial this week and have been blasting 500 of the same article direct to my money sites to test these 'legends' out :D. I am willing to risk it in the name of science.

I think though if I am gonna do bigger pyramids I will do a blast, then spin an unrelated article do another blast link it to 1st tier, etc etc, till I have an amount of layers I'm happy with.

Do you guys SB blast your articles or web 2.0s?

I got deindexed for one of my squidoo pages recently. I thought it was cos I blasting but I read an article today to say you will likely get deindexed after a 'grace period' since after a while google discounts the PR of the website you're on and your page has to stand on its own which is what may deindex it. So ironically I might have gotten deindexed cos I didn't blast ENOUGH :D. All speculation of course.

I am gonna hire a vps soon so I can really start blasting properly as my connection has been throttling my blasting potential.

So do you guys blast your articles too? I'm thinking I will to hlep them get indexed. Once I get a good connection with VPS I will just blast the shit out of everything (except money site) and see what happens.

    Well,

I can't really remember what this was about but I have found no diff between spun and unspun.

I also I blast day in day out and have no probs...now indexing too quick that has brought me probs (using backlink energizer). Don't worry about bookmarking and rss tho as that doesn't index fast.

the spinning has to be a good nested spins for it to actually count as unique. Spin in and out whole PARAGRAPHS and then spin those paragraphs.

    Home Page:
It totally depends on what the content is for, If you are just going to place a back link where no one will actualy read (such as an article directory) it then I think any variation of spun content is fine, as long as algorithmically speaking its atleast 50% unique, higher the better. If you need an article to make sense then it needs a bit more work.

Google of course has evolved but does understand that if the same content is repeated elsewhere then it does not necessarily mean dupe content and can be seen as a vote for the referencing site, especially if the reproduced article is pointing to the same originating page. Though there is definitely a limit to the number of the SAME article Google will index, as highlighted by the "Similar Search" Attribute

The point i guess I am trying to make is that these days, article spinning is not the only thing that can be done to make a site unique, but changing the number of words, the number of paragraphs and html coding also enhance the uniqueness of the article.

Now here is an idea: What about not spinning articles that go to article directories, pr sites, pretty much everything where duplicate content is to be expected - because google expects that this may be normal behaviour, like news. In addition the articles will be really readable because they are not spun and attract additional traffic through article networks.

And at the same time create web 2.0, but only upload unique /pretty good spun content there - reason behind this is that google won't expect duplicate content on new small sites and see it as manipulation.

What do you guys think? Its not that I am too lazy to spin everything, but if it's not necessary...

That's what I have done in the past.

I still saw the same SERP jumps with AMR than if I had spun it. Also they don;t seem to get deleted either like some ppl warned of dupe content.

    So go ahead I say.

Web 2.0s however are EXTREME on their unique content :D and will have your ass banned in days if sub it to those. Well some are, hubpages being one of the most notorious.

I can spin an article in the same amount of time it takes me to use a semi manual spinner.
It's when I check constantly for uniqueness that it slows down the process.
400 words on any subject can be done in a couple of minute dependant on your level of
    English.
    Which leads another issue.

If your English is not good how do you know when you have a good
spin? Because a program tells you?

Spinning is quick, easy and convenient, but does it add any value to the Internet?
No it doesn't and as the Internet is your paymaster should you not be more diligent
    on what you feed it?
Once the Internet becomes overbloated with worthless crap that only serves to line
your pockets it will metamorphosis into a totally different animal then you know now
and you will be posting threads about why method this doesn't work any more.
