    Hello BHWers:

I know is a noob question, I red on the forum about people who have several accounts in the same niche, but I don't get the whole idea.

I guess the basic idea is to support the main IG account (brand), but how exactly it helps? I don't get it.

I know there are people who apply this method to several social networks. I'm wondering how do they achieve to manage all of them and make them looks as real (post, comments, replies, etc).

    Thanks very much

the point is - more accounts = more $$$. that's it. When covering vast niches like health/fitness, it's good to create multiple accs.

The idea is to shoutout the small accounts from your biggest, so they grow very fast and monetize them

It's easier to make 20 accounts reach 20K than to make 1 account reach 400K.

It also keeps your eggs in separate baskets.

That's true, but 20 accounts with 20K each aren't worth anything - 1 account with 400K is worth a lot.

To answer OP's question, I think it's to cross-promote the accounts. Just think of the future: you will have 20 accounts in a similar niche, all with a decent amount of followers, so once you start selling ads you can sell them on all your accounts - many customers will choose to post their stuff on several of your accounts, so 1 customer means X times the money you would get with one account.

However, I know plenty of people who start 5-20 accounts in the same niche just to realize it's too much work (at least when doing it by hand), just to stop the majority of their accounts a couple of weeks or months later.

They aren't worth anything by what metric?

You get the same scale in a fraction of the time. To illustrate, 20 accounts gaining 100 followers per day is much more manageable than 1 account gaining 2,000 per day.

You can grow each of them to the 5-6 figure range in roughly the same amount of time for massive gains. For example, if it takes 1 year to reach 50K, then 20 accounts could get you while it would take you much longer with 1 account.

You can not only cross-shoutout your accounts, you can sell shoutouts and spread them across accounts to avoid "ruining" your feed.

You don't lose everything if an account gets banned.

Each of these points have value.

all your points are true, don't get me wrong. What I was trying to say is that nobody would pay more than a few bucks for a 20k account (and thus, 20 of those accounts still aren't worth more than a couple of 100 bucks best case), while it would be an easy thing to sell a 400k acount for five figures.

Same thing applies to when it comes to ads and shoutouts - it will be very difficult to sell them at that size, no matter how many accounts.

But once all of them reach a certain size, let's say 100k each, you will obviously make a lot more with several accounts. Growing 20 accounts by hand without a bot seems pretty impossible though

One of the main reasons is to leverage your loses in case Instagram brings down the ban hammer. All take time and effort. 20 accounts take more effort than 1 account, but 3, 6, 9 months from now, if you still have all 20 accounts, it's easier to bring one, or a new one, up to par or to jump to 50k or 100k followers.

Now, if you just want your own personal account to grow, and won't be doing anything stupid or really illegal in Instagram's book, then just do one account. In the long run, it's easier, takes less time, and less headaches as to "where do I steal good images from", "how do I clean the MD5 or SHA1 hash", or "do I mention the image owner just in case".

I think you're wrong about that man, I have an account with 20k that I have been offered over $500 for from a few different people. Once you have one big account you can make a decent amount building up new accounts in the same niche and selling them on.

Some niches are so big that 20 accounts would not even be enough to maximize revenue..

Maybe this works in a few niches, but it certainly won't work for the mainstream, oversaturated niches

I think you got me wrong. I'm not talking about selling the accounts either, but the value you can get out of a 20k account (by doing shoutouts & promotions) is nothing compared to the value a 400k account gives you. That's because no brand will pay for advertisements on 20k account, and they most likely won't do so if you had 20 accounts with 20k each either.

But of course, eventually, when all these small accounts are big, you will make a fortune if you know what you're doing.
