I understand getting real followers because they will actually view but if I use addmefast, youlikehits or something along them sites to gain followers, is there any point except increasing the numbers? Most of the time you get a follower, no one will actually view your content you post.

The only thing I can think of for like twitter is the fact they have limits of how many you can follow until you reach a certain amount of followers so I can understand how it's useful for that but other things like increasing facebook fan pages do nothing that I can see...

Buying followers can add some authority to your account.

Will you follow a website with only 2 followers? Some website use fake followers to increase their account authority.

For example I would rather to follow a website with 2k followers than only 2 followers.

Your legit followers will not even noticed that the 2k is fake followers.

You need fake followers for getting good followers/follows ratio. If you are following 1k people and have only 3 followers, nobody will follow you back when you follow them.

    Gaming Forever,

I get the whole "Image" motivation for buying followers. Yes, an account that has a ton of followers may look like it has something more to offer than one with fewer. Personally, and while others may not agree, I think spending time and money on being genuine and offering a quality experience through a social account are better ways to build a following. I think the chances that someone may not follow an account because of low follower count are minimal and they are more likely weigh the decision on what kind of content the account is producing.
For example if you find someone that is sharing content that is valuable to you, you probably won't care if they only have 30 followers because you will connect with the account in the hope that they will share valuable content down the road or maybe you respect that account holder for some other reason. By contrast, if you see a scenario where there is no other reason to follow an account but a high follower count, then yes, the count is probably the most important factor (in which case the account probably is not worth following anyway).

Think if you found someone that was sharing quality black hat tactics on the web or maybe even new ways that were very effective for gaining fake followers. Would you not follow their accounts because of a low follower count even though they were sharing valuable information that could help you? It's more likely that they would already have a huge following by the time you found them because they were sharing things that were useful.
In answer to your question, there is a point to buying fake followers and if its to entice people to follow an account that has no real value, then it probably works well.

Some social media accounts have been cracking down on this behavior,

    Hope that helps,

    Perceived Value.

If people see a page with a bunch of great content, but only no likes they generally see the content in one of two ways. They are automatically suspicious (they see it as low value), or they act as an early adopter (high value) and spread the word. Early adopters are certainly the minority of internet users.

Yes you are always better off with creating a real following, but it definitely helps to have a bit of a head start.
