I know alexa rank is not the most accurate and can be manipulated.

I see for some keywords, the sites on the G 1st page have alexa rank well into the millions. People are talking about low competition niches. These keywords are not going to get ridiculous traffic. So I wonder if one of these sites alone can make $2K a month?

I know it all depends on CPC, conversion rate, etc. I just want to have an ball park idea.

Anybody here thats making $2K a month with a site that has no-so-good alexa rank? whats your alexa rank?

It's all about "targeted traffic"... one of my sites earns $150 a day from 5k visitors a day, and the other one earns $200 a day from just 50 "sniper targeted" visitors.

    So it depends.

That a piece of string question as Alexa rank has notthing to do with how much your earn.

Saying that I had a site that was 23k Alexa and was earning 4k a month.

but that does not mean if you have a site with alexa ranking 46 you will earn 2k

obviously the higher your alexa ranking gets, the more money you get out of the site.

Of course. Just build lots of low-traffic sites that can convert the traffic they do manage to get.

Lol, since when does Alexa ranks have anything to do with earning money.
If you are the number 1 on Alexa, then yes you are making a lot of money.

Obviously you have no idea what you are talking about.

The things you call "obvious" aren't, and one of them is dead wrong.

"OBVIOUSLY" WRONG; you could have a joke site that gets 10 million hits an hour and makes $0.00. You could also have a site that sells custom airplanes and get $10 million off of a mere handful of visitors.

Of course, if you sell the site to some Alexa-crazed SAP then there'll be a correlation between the Alexa rank and how much you can get off him. :p

You did not pay for mindreading services, so "OBVIOUSLY" I figured you had enough sense to not stake everything on one site.

As for your question, apparently you posted it just so you could say "obviously" as if you know more than the people you're asking. By your OP, you apparently already know that profitability depends on CTR, conversion ratio, etc. so there is really no good reason to be asking about Alexa or even caring about it at all.

i see what you did there. you posed the question in such a way because youve come to the same conclusion as me that most of the people who post here are full of shyt and they aint making no where near what they claim.

That's so far from the truth it's not even funny. Do you even know how Alexa works?

I had a site getting 50k UVs a day and was Alexa 100k making about $500 a day.

I had a site getting 100 UVs a day and was Alexa 30k making about $5 a month,

Generally speaking and assuming Alexa isn't being manipulated, the lower the ranking, the more traffic you have. Is the traffic targeted? If so, you can obviously make a lot of money with a lot of it. For some of you people to act as if there is no correlation between a low Alexa ranking and $$$ is just stupid.....again, assuming the ranking wasn't manipulated. Common sense. Alexa ranks by traffic, so there's a lot more potential for a lower ranked site than a high ranked site. I have 103 websites and the majority of the best money makers have the lowest alexa rankings. Now I'll admit, profit also has to do with what you're selling, the cost, etc. But if you have two almost identical websites, offering the same products and/or services......you're making more money with the lowest ranked (in Alexa) site, because you're getting more traffic. It's almost always going to be like this.

    this is a freaking joke.
what kind of freaking moron does not know the lower the number the better? and every one of those taking a poke is assuming that people are retarded?

you people tried so hard to correct my writing and insisted that #1 is called "lowest" rank, not "highest" rank?

jesus christ. do you just not have common sense or just have to read everything literally?

i start to have the same feel now although i did not have that implication.

100 uv a day and alexa 30K? is that alexa traffic ranking? how does 100uv make your alexa traffic ranking 30K?

Yep - that's about right off top of my head. It's certainly no more than 10k UVs a month. Depends on the niche. If you have users who are likely to have the Alexa toolbar installed (something tech related) then you can have a very low Alexa with barely any traffic.

If you're in a niche where users won't likely have the toolbar then you could have 1000s of UVs a day and be around the 1m mark.

Thus, Alexa is only really useful for comparing sites in the same niche as a relative measure. Comparing a PC repair forum with a fashion blog would be pointless, for example.
