    Hello

I was wondering if people know what the possible impact of moving a site from a basic shop( ecommerce site) to a wordpress site ?

The existing site ranks ok for a few key words but does not get much natural traffic

So my idea was to move it to wordpress and then write descriptions for each product ect

    Would this be beneficial ?

    thanks for the advice

    Sam

as long if its on the same domain, and you are doing all 301 redirects - should be no impact

Agreed. If your URL structure is going to change use an .htaccess file to 301 redirect all existing links to some relevant page. I just went through this process a week ago and there haven't been any problems! You could always use a tool like Website Auditor to help you with this task
