How would you wanna live, what's an ideal life to you? How much you wanna make, how much you wanna work, where do you wanna live etc...

I'd like to have to work 2-3 hrs daily, read awesome books, study new things, travel a damn lot and live in Japan for at least a few years

I am doing your wishlist, with the exception of travel....too expensive with my current income.
It's great, but you will get bored because of lack of new challenges. You have to create new goals
and challenges for yourself especially when you are content.

The OP's wishlist is travel, so doing his wishlist with the exception of travelling, is not doing his wishlist.

My dream is to make enough money to own a house in somewhere warm, like Arizona, Texas, or Nevada. My house must have a pool. I want to spend around 15 hours a week on IM and spend the rest pursuing my hobby which is filmmaking

Never cared much for hypothetical questions. You know what you want out of life
and just have to dig and hustle your way to it. I feel pretty comfortable as is but I
know what I want and what it takes to achieve.

Speculation has no place in my to-do list. :)

I just want to be able to provide for the entirety of my family, so I've got my bar set pretty damn high.

I'm also incredibly cheap, so that's gonna help eventually! If I could work ~2-3 hours a day and have the rest of that time to use towards my PERSONAL goals... I'd be one happy Canuck.

    ^ This.

If you are living in the "Western World" you ARE living the "dream life" that 80% of the world aspires to.

Define your goals, develop a plan, and execute on the plan. Evaluate results. Adjust plan to improve results or for modified goals.

Don't spend a whole lot of time on the goals part ("ideal lifestyle") as the rest should be taking up 90% of your time.

Also, you will likely discover that your goals were either unrealistic, were not really that important to you, or things happened that you now rank some (previously lower) goals over others.

An "ideal life" is an oxymoron.

Life by nature, evolution would dictate that life is suppose to be anything but ideal. And "ideals" are just these smokescreens that exist in our mind to blind us from what's real and true. They're all just an illusion. The minute you lay hands on an "ideal" it just changes form into something new.

Example: As much respect as I have for the Rockefellers of this world, as "ideal" a life I think that may be, I have equally as much respect for monks who have rejected all things material and live just to exist. I see life as a monk just as ideal as being the richest man alive. It's ultimate simplicity. Not being enslaved to money. No drama. No ego. No bullshit.

So if I can rightfully say that those 2 polar opposite lives would BOTH be considered "ideal".... then ideals must be meaningless.

Maybe a REAL "ideal" life is a life where the word itself doesn't exist. Where we can all open our eyes and realize that as long as we're alive, as long as we're breathing (and not suffering) that's as ideal as life will ever really get.
