Hey just found a dropped domain i can register for registration fee.

More than 40 edu domains linking to it. No spammy backlinks...

The problem is: this domain has nearly ONLY backlinks from pages with more than 500-900 OBL (huge lists of links).
These pages are inner pages of universities that receive ONLY ONE BACKLINK in average.

    DA: 40 AhrefsDomainRank:55 TrustFlow:17

When I usually look at domains with this level of DA and AHREFS metrics, the TF is much higher (at least 25).

1.Why are the MOZ and AHREFS Metrics so high and TF so low?

    2. Would you use a domain like this as a money site or a PBN site?

    3. Does this mean my Domain will be trusted by G(because of the 40 edu backlinks) but can not give a lot of link juice to my domain(as it is only in those huge directories)?

I will definitely register the domain, i am just interested in your point of view, cause this domain really confuses me...

    CHEERS

g00gle don't read/consider all external links in a page with a certain amount of obl,
A page with 500-900 external links is bad i wouldn't want to see my url in. Even .edu tld ,those links have a little power, if it was another tld i would say zero. just my 2 cents

DA is domain specific whereas TF could be domain based or page based. Different metrics by different companies, when going for domains, try to excel across different metrics.

    1. Because TF is harder to manipulate.
    2. As a money site or PBN site (depends on why I'm getting the domain in the first place).
    3. "Edu links = Trust" is a myth. Links from weak pages of edu sites won't give your site any trust.

    1. the way each metric is worked out varies greatly and I don't think that any of them get it completely right - I wouldn't worry too much about any of them
    2. depends on the domain itself and whether or not it is relevant to any particular niche in which there is money to be made - most probably this is not the case so I'd use it in a PBN
    3. yes, the domain will probably have a good amount of trust but, as you infer, the actual link juice will be more limited given the number of OBLs on all those pages

On the plus side, at least by being a part of these huge lists, this domain is being positioned within a good neighbourhood of sites with plenty of co-citation bonus points.
