I purchased a service about a week ago and I am not happy with the service. I am pretty sure the seller will not refund me (although I have hinted to him that I will want a refund if the service did not live up to my expectations).

Any ways, I want to open a dispute, but I am not sure if that is smart. I have never really opened a dispute before because I have been banned from gaypal since 08. So my current account is not verified and if I do verify it I might get banned, so I am a bit cautious of that.

    I am given 2 options:
I have a problem with an item I purchased

    and

I want to report a transaction that I didn't authorise

Which one is the best option for me? Without having to confirm shit, show ID etc. (coz they will link my ID to my original account).

If the product is not shipped physically, you at the losing end. PP dispute usually don't work well for online delivered items. If the payment was done using a CC, do a charge back that's the best bet.

wELP......... First, tell the seller you have a problem. As someone who accepts paypal, I really hate people that open disputes without prior communication.

not authorized is not as good as "item Significantly Not As Described" aka SNAD

Those are the words most processors look for

option 1 is the best way to go, since the seller will definitely prove that you authorized the transaction. Best bet is to try convince the seller to refund you, or go with option one!

As a general practice I don't do business with people who are quick to do CC chargebacks. I understand Paypal disputes (although would much rather I were just contacted first), but I consider doing a CC chargeback without fully exhausting all other options to be a form of friendly fraud. I've won CC chargebacks in the past, and usually the people who do them never even try to resolve the issue with me before filing a chargeback. So I'll make sure to blacklist that persons email/IP from any product I'm associated with.

    It was an online service.

I bought a solo blast.... 900+ clicks.... turns out the fucker is just sending traffic from this site: veely.com and has the nerve to say it's just used for traffic when I asked him why the refer was showing that site for 99% of the traffic.

    Sound advice!

So I should go for option 1) and mention SNAD / item Significantly Not As Described!

    Thanks for your thoughts.

Edit: I already told the seller that I normally get 30-40% optin rate on targeted traffic to my lander, so if he was legitly selling solo ads in the niche he said he was I would expect to get at least 15-20%!

So far I have had over 400 "clicks" (actually im pretty sure its just bots/or traffic) and had 0 optin!

That's not normally solo stats AT ALL!

    This was his response: "Hello,
If we saw that kind of click-thrus we would be charging 100X more for the blast. Right now you are doing avg for the first time out.

    Thank you"

    Hello,

First just communicate with the seller, tell the complete problem about his services. If he/she is a professional businessman he knows his fault and will find a way to fix the problem.

If he hesitate and doesnt fix your complain or your problem. File a chargeback on paypal. tell them the item or services is not as described by the seller.

If you would be the seller, you will be mad also if someone file a chargeback without communicating with you.

if the acc is not verified, there's always a risk that you need to verify it at some point regardless what dispute option you choose, hopefully it won't happen right now, but an unverified acc cannot stay unverified for long if you'd like to use it for bigger payments (sending/receiving/buying, don't matter)

you will not get money if you choose item not as described as paypal protection policy does not cover the service you purchased

Paypal will not give you refund on virtual goods or services... If EVEN you do not receive them... That really sucks!

    You have 3 options left

1-Threat seller that you will charge back the money if you dont get the refund, If he didnt give you refund do #2
2- Lie ( tell paypal you didnt receive your physical item ) make the story believable - If you didnt win the claim do #3
3- Charge back from your cc company

Look at going through your credit card for a chargeback, that way you might avoid questions from gaypal.
I think that if the card company find in your favour the funds are held in paypal for 30 days to see if the seller disputes the chargeback, then are released back to your card.

    Hope you get this sorted

    Wait wait wait.

Not authorized, I believe, means you had no part in making the purchase.

One time I used to sell virtual goods and someone committed fraud, got the goods from me then disputed the purchase. Because it was virtual goods, I was out of luck (that kind of scamming was common at the time, selling online virtual gold sales).

Anyways, in this one instance, the guy said the purchase wasn't authorized. That meant, somehow ... someway, the purchase was made, and he didn't do it. It implies he got hacked, someone else logged into his account ... purchase went through and somehow he was completely out of the loop.

Anyways, after a long time, paypal gave me the money back and refused his claim. I think on further inquiry, they discovered that he really did make the purchase (in that nobody else hacked his account and made the purchase for him).

Furthermore, you might be putting your account in jeopardy ... saying that a purchase was made from your account (and it wasn't you) means paypal will put a lock down on it until they figure it out.

I might be wrong, and that example was like 6 years ago, but you should verify what "not authorized" really means before you claim it.

If that guy has a verified account and calls them to close the case then he will obviously win it. You should have a verified profile and all the details needed, then you can call them and tell the issue. It always helps in my case.
