How do you guys decide on a domain name?

Is it literally what you think is the most catchy or is it all to do with keywords?

depends on the site. if its a generic site then any domain will do. if its niche related then best bet is keyword related to help in serps..

just depends what you want to do...

If you are trying to compete for a specific niche then having keywords in the domain name really helps. For this I use this instant domain name search to check what's available fast...

You are really on a roll this morning. 16 posts in 25 minutes.

Anyway, I agree with Dan. It depends on what you have in mind for the site. Keywords are always a good way to go though. If the site is going to be about one product or person, the domain name should keyword rich.

I use nameboy for generating domains for me, but there are countless other similar sites. All you need is a few keywords and these generators can give you suggestions and even check availability.
