    Hi guys,

My laptop suddenly went kaput and i have a very limited video player in the new laptop.
Is there one that will play video files in all kinds of formats?
    Where can i get this?
    Thanks

How's this related to General Programming Chat? You should have posted this in the lounge.

Anyway, the answer to your question is VLC player. Google that term and the player's site will come up at the 1st place.

Just happened upon this thread while searching for "video" related posts, and thought I'd do someone a favor and post this:

Media Player Classic is the best player. Plays anything & everything (including quicktime), and ignores Digital Rights Management. Slows down, speeds up, frame-by-frame. I've used it for years and it has never given me a problem. No toolbar, spyware, adware, and if you want to get rid of it, it goes away quickly and without complaint.

I would give kudos to both CMP is the best for a simple player that works well with any format, and VLC the same, but allows for more advanced video settings as well as streaming and remote media functionality.
