    Home Page:
I currently have a Facebook 'Like Us' popup box that comes up on my page. It is working, I've gotten 300+ likes this week. But I wonder, would my efforts be better utilized trying to obtain e-mail address for a newsletter?

I dont want to bombard my users with BOTH a facebook likebox AND a e-mail newsletter sign up.

How should I go about this?

    Thanks

Having in mind that FB reach is pretty crappy these days you are probably better off getting their emails

I would want their email, you have a sure fire way of promoting to them then.

Email is better. That is information that you have control over and direct communication. With facebook likes, you have no control over what they are going to see. You are at the will of facebook. With all the changes in facebook recently, most facebook pages will not get any exposure unless you pay for it. Concentrate on building up your list. Facebook still has its uses but email will be a better use.

I use both, but IMO Facebook has lost a lot of its usefulness with the recent changes in EdgeRank and such.

I would definitely choose e-mail. You'll make a lasting connection that doesn't rely on FB to be profitable.

Email is better. Some may have already forgotten email marketing but I am pretty sure that email marketing still is one of the most effective strategy of getting traffic and sales if done correctly.

I think you'd better include both these things to your site. Of course, email is better because this means that the person is VERY loyal to your product, but the number of people leaving their contacts instead of likes is much smaller
