Pandora - Dub Step Radio
Personally I use Grooveshark most of the time now. A friend of mine is friends with one of the founders so I got hooked up with a free Plus account, but even in the free version there's no ads that interrupt music (there's banners, but who cares if it's in another tab). Any music you want on demand + no ads = WIN Their only downside is Apple did not approve their iOS app (and yes, I realize I can get it if I jailbreak, but I want to stay legit with my phone).
Used to have Pandora subscription for 2 years, even before they had ads that interrupted the music, mainly because I wanted to support them and felt I was getting alot of value. Use it mainly for music discovery. Haven't renewed subscription for another year, mainly because I don't really use it anymore.
Spotify? I got an early invite as soon as they came to the US. I hate the annoying ads, and don't feel they bring anything to the table, aside from iOS app, that I don't already get with GrooveShark.
Any gems I'm missing? What do you use?
Grooveshark is amazing.
WTF, why are all my threads getting messed up recently? 1st reply becomes the OP, and my OP becomes a reply.
Ha, I love dubstep too. Also electronica/IDM (so called "intelligent dance music") - it's great because it has good beats and no words = perfect for working when you can't get distracted with lyrics.
Filesonic and friends
Hm, havent heard of them. Looks like free is only for 30 days and then after that its $9?
I have like 30 gb of music I need to put up online somewhere. Gonna try that Apple deal where for $25/year you can make all your music legit, regardless of it's source - FANTASTIC deal if you ask me
Anyone use Mspot or Google Music?
Can't beat torrenting your music.
Of course, I support artists I actually think deserve the money, e.g. classical artists.
Dubset if you like dj mixes. it has nothing to do with dubstep, idk why that's the name. www.dubset.com
Pandora is cool, I listen to anything from death metal, to rap to dubstep. Love it all.
I use iheartradio, it has a little bit of everything.
i use zune thats on my xbox..
never found an album they didn't have.
Slacker radio..althoug if you heart something it plays it way too much...
Google music is good. They only let you upload 20000 songs though =[. cant complain though it is free right now.
Live365, but I also download and convert YouTube videos to mp3.
Pandora when I just want to hear some music... if I wana download an album I go with Soulseek
That's a glitch that is currently being worked on.
Cheers! - "Wiz"
Grooveshark is solid (facing legal trouble right now I think), but 8tracks is also pretty straight.
And I haven't tried it yet but a few friends of mine have been listening to this thing called "Radio" I think. Some have even got it installed in their cars but I heard it only plays shitty music...
