How many hours does your battery last for? 3 hours? 5 hours? 8 hours? 12? Longer? Shorter?

Do you use the web a lot? I figured I'd ask here because many of us use the web a lot on our phones so I wanted to get an accurate feel for how long I should expect the battery to last, since it can very with non-web oriented users who might say it last 8 hours, when in reality it lasts that long because they barely use it.

Is there honestly not one person on bhw that has an EVO? How can that be? Its one of the most feature-rich phones on the market and seems like an internet marketers wet dream. Please say I'm wrong! I need some feedback! :o

I use it pretty heavily, although not much on the web. Im always close to my pc or laptop so i typically go for the larger screen and the full keyboard. With that said I do text and talk a decent amount and I only have to charge my phone when I sleep, and every now and then I have to throw it on the charger during the afternoon.

What has helped my battery life a lot is Advanced Task Killer. Its a free app (ad supported). You can set it to auto kill your applications. I have mine set to auto kill when the screen goes off (i.e. when I lock the phone).

Thanks for your post chano, very informative. Are there any other apps you recommend (battery-related or not, doesn't matter) that you're a fan of?

Have you come across a way to fix the terrible audio quality that occurs when you record videos on your EVO?

Has Sprint's coverage been decent in your experience?

I have an Evo, but don't use it much to surf the web. I can get a full day easy, depending on what I'm doing sometimes. Rarely will I have to charge it more than once a day - unless I'm using it constantly all day.

I also googled how to prolong battery life, there are a few forum threads and blog posts offering good advice. Google 'Evo battery life" for some useful tips.

I have the Android, a phone that runs off the same OS as Evo. It probably has similar hardware, too. If I use it throughout the day making calls, checking the web and texting, it usually last around 1.5 days. When I don't use it that much or very little, I can usually reach almost 3 days.

I DL'ed an application that closes down all uneeded programs. So when I touch the icon, it closes everything down except the needed phone services, and the alarm. I think it's called "Task Manager."

I've got one. I installed an app called SystemPanel Lite (free) and I have configured it to end all of the background apps. It saves a lot on the battery life. My battery life on it is about 20 hours to 24 hours.

Hope this helped you!

I haven't counted hours, but it lasts me from when I get up to when I go to bed and still has the "half" battery icon. It's about the same you'll get with any modern "super phone"

I use advanced task killer too..If you use it regularly you should get pretty long lasting life out of it. I notice some days the battery dies in like 2 hours and other times I can last 2 days without a charge and still have half a bar.

I use the phone pretty heavily.

also does anyone else notice programs auto starting out of nowhere?

Thanks for the input everyone.

So today I decided to go to the g00gle keyw0rd t00l on the EVO's browser and was sorely disappointed. The browser had one hell of a time loading it, in fact it would freeze the phone 4 out of 5 times, where none of the touch buttons or the physical button on the top would respond.

And, when it did load the page (after waiting wayy too long, like 1-2 minutes), it would crash the browser after I searched for a keyword. I forget the error but it was something along the lines of "htc.something.somewhere.process could not load". The error would appear on the home-screen after the browser crashed.

I tried it again on the HD Dolphin browser and had the same fate.

Whats really weird is that the g00gle keyw0rd t00l works flawlessly on the iPhone 4, but not an android phone.

Are you guys able to use keyw0rd t00l properly on your EVO's or no?

Please let me know. I'm really concerned about this. I mean a g00gle webpage should work on a g00gle OS, should it not? :director:
