Whats an "average" CTR for banner ads?

Basically the ads on my website are not related to my niche at all as there are no banner ads in my niche. I hate CPC ads as these are rarely related too and whenever i've used them, have brought in less.

I know i should change niche, but i enjoy this one so i'm trying some new stuff out to see how it goes.

But ads are a main form of income, but i'm sure with a CTR of < 0.5% the networks will get suspicious.

I know alot of peoples on here are very high so they have to dilute them, but mine are low and don't want to stick out like a sore thumb as my traffic is from "questionable" sources. I can knock the CTR up as required, but don't want to go too high, so ...

What would a good CTR to maintain? or am i about average at the mo? ( just seems weird being really, really low though when some people get 30-40% etc.etc.)

well depensd on your website and where you place them i think

but id say 1-5%? 40% ctr with banner would be more suspicious than 0,5% imo

If they're not related to your niche, I'd say 0.5-2% TOPS. 2% is even pushing it.
