Pr3 is ok, enough to sell links for a small amount, or give your inner pages a bit of juice:)

PR 3 is sufficient. Just don't concentrate on PR. Concentrate more on getting traffic and increasing your revenues month by month. PR is only good when selling websites.

While that would seem logical, it's not always the whole truth. PageRank by itself won't rank you higher UNLESS everything else is equal (backlinks, on-page SEO etc). So given the fact that your competition could easily have amassed their PR from high-authority sites, while you may have amassed yours from run-of-the-mill sites, they'll eat you for lunch. Or you'll eat them for lunch, if the roles are reversed.

    PageRank matters little nowadays.

I've just bought a PR3 site, so do you think I could sell a few links to make some money? It's a site about gifts.... How much are we talking about though? $5,$10 ?

Page rank is just for a name shake if you have a good PR then you can sell your site for higher price also you can make some decent sales with your PR

PR isn't the only variable but you can make a lot of money by selling links. Some sites like Adbeans look at this.

Unless you are selling backlinks from that domain, the toolbar pagerank is pretty much meaningless. The only thing that matters is rankings.
