Let me preface this by saying, I am not the type to flame competitors, or try to falsely degrade or deface any ones business or reputation. To me it is a total waste of energy. But I have to ask others here, what you would do if you had a competitor falsely flaming your website/product for his own gain? Do you ignore them, or do you reciprocate.

The reason I ask is because I have this dick bag who is doing just that. Made a YouTube video blasting my business. He was also writing negative shit on my Twitter page. On top I had no idea who it was, which made it worse. Then I figured out who the guy was, and sent him numerous emails politely asking him to remove the YouTube video, with no response.

So, I have to ask..What would you do?

Depends, sometimes it's good to get off a lil steam but don't waste too much time on it. :)

I mean I know I could just cause this guy a ton of headaches, but at this point I am thinking that being successful is the best revenge. I still just hate people that do this kind of shit though, and feel like I want to teach him a lesson.

Let me know your business name and his business name, I might can help you, for free.

Don't do that. We're fairly sure RichGirl is FingerGirl (banned scammer).

In response to your post, you can try and get his video removed from youtube or if you want you can wage all out warfare with him using the knowledge from this forum. (you will win)

Ya I tried flagging his video, and reporting it to YouTube, but they claimed they didn't find anything that personally infringed on my personal information.

Does his video get a lot of views or is it just there?

It has around 150 views. Luckily the video hasn't indexed when you search our name, but if it does, I will be even more pissed.

Then right now the best thing you can do is ignore him and not give him anymore publicity to his video. That's what will hurt you the most. If the time comes where he is indexed and gets a decent amount of daily views then the story changes.

but he's promoting your business for free though, why not look at it this way? unless you are negatively impacted. I would imagine more people would be curious about your business.

He said the video was bad mouthing his business. I would look at that as a negative.

bad marketing is good marketing :) people might be curious to find out more about his business. Might even try and find out its actually the opposite of what the competitor is trying to do to him

You can throw up a video targeting his same keywords discrediting his business. It will then be a he said, she said scenario to anyone seeing them. Or throw up a video targeting his keywords that talks about why this competitor is doing what he's doing and why he's so off-base.

Just a few thoughts
