    Ok Heres the deal....

I do some freelance web design for this group of real estate lawyers. I do a little internet marketing for them but not much. So the owner of the company wants to give me a budget of $500 a week to get leads through landing pages. I would be making my money on the leads that come in. I have a few things I would like to explore but its different when its someone else's money...

    What would you guys do????

It depends on the cost of the marketing vs the potential return. If the PPC market isn't that competitive then I would do that as it is an instant market. Do you have any stats to do some modelling e.g. what is the conversion rate of visits to lead, what is the value of an average lead. Once you have this you can work out a 'value per visit', if this value is higher than your CPC cost doing PPC then general rule of thumbs says you are onto a winner (bidding on brand and competitor brands will get you your best return).

If PPC isn't an option then I would suggest investing the money in some link building and aiming for some decent Top positions in the SERPs. This will take time, typically 4 months from nowhere to front page if it is a super competitive term but the long term rewards are better using natural search.

Failing that you could do some email list deals with the likes of ipoints who segment all their users against your criteria and then send an email to them - never really worked for me.

Those are of course white hat techniques, I'm sure there are plenty of black hat techniques that others can recommend but bear in mind this is your clients money so they are going to want to see measurable results and KPIs.

    Hope that helps.

They are actually real estate lawyers. As your aware the loan modification business is HOT!!! right now. Well they take it up one step. They take your mortgage company to court and force them to reduce your interest rate and balance. About 90% of mortgage in America have some sort of violation on the lenders behalf. Last year they got 50 homes free and clear from the lender.

I might do PPC I havent done to much of it however I did watch a good video series....Do you have any good insight on PPC?

    Thanks

Put the $500 in my pocket and generate traffic for them by spamming the shite out of Y!A and CL.
