I will buy an old keyword domain, 5 high pr domains with over 5k backlinks indexed in Alexa and spend the rest of money on writers. and for that i will hire teenagers in my area and pay them weekly.

I'd hire a Fillepeno full time for 3-4 months and have him/her write & post 1 blog for me with my SEO requirements.

I would have someone manage the social media because there are so many people that are seeking answers.

I would get SEO for the 10 keywords that would be beneficial.

I would then get 40 more high quality content pieces at 900 words.

Then I would get someone off CL to distribute fliers and cards informing them what they need to be doing to seek answers.

I would get 10 videos set up helping to outline the problems and get the answers.

$2,000 isn't a lot of money. But if you are frugal you can be successful. I would use the money as follows: 1) $300 automated tools 2) $500 content for site and web 2.0s 3) $200 domains. The other $1k I would hold in reserve. You should be able to build 10 good MNS sites and be making $1k a month after 4-6 months. Then pick the winners and turn them into authority sites with the other 1k.

How much did that cost you?

If you have the time you should buy some tools and start building your own links, or go to the buy/sell section on BHW and buy some good services you'll end up spending 200$ a month.

Buying Links is a stupid Strategy, those who do seo know that 1000 high 1 million do follow links are worthless, when you can have one Manual Link from a Ranked Page with keyword to your website to perform a better task and get better Ranking.

Also, the higher the Link Present on a page the Higher is its value and Juice.

Your point should be stated: Buying 1 million do-follow backlinks is stupid.
Buying links in general is not stupid.

with that kind of money.. google adwords is the last thing that I will be looking at.. Will be investing it facebook and pinterest and will get real fans and followers so that I build a customer base that remains my customer base for a long time, and will create a buzz about my brand which in turn will result in better conversion and sales... forget one time traffic, focus on repeat traffic.. that is the way to go when investing money for web traffic

If the website is already solid, then I would promote on FB. create a FB page and build your page out with PPC. I'd also invest into some quality tools and build your own links.

To the OP, need a little more information from you on this one. You said that you were looking for methods of "promoting/generating traffic" that were "out of the box". What most people have suggested here is fairly in the box.

I have to ask a couple key questions here (this will help you to get targeted, useful responses):

    1) What do you have in place now that we can offer suggestions on expanding on? 2) What tools do you have that you are currently using, if any? 3) Are you already paying money for traffic or link building? 4) Is your domain and content aged or is it a fresh site that you're trying to get off the ground (very important to know).

Just a thought...Have you promoted any other websites in the past with/without success? If so, what types of methods/strategies are you using now?

I personally wouldn't just fork over $2000 for website promotion unless the ROI was going to be substantial in the short term. For long-term, I would recommend creating a budget (weekly, monthly, yearly) for any paid services and use that plan to track progress and tweak your spending.
