I've discovered that a website is copying my unique work without giving me credit. This is on my main site.

What have others done in this situation

What should I do, if anything at all? Just work to rank my site better?

This other site is in India and I'm in Europe, so there's nothing I can do, except try to get my site ranked higher. Frustrating....

Oh well...I'm off to buy a links package from the services section

I had a shit doing this and found out who he was in Phillipines and he was usinh hostgator so i was going to get them to ban him as if you show them it is your material and he has copied they will shut him down, at least from there server, however as I ranked N02 and he was back at about 100 i let it be, the sire makes FA for me so i am sure his is the same.

    That's a good tactic. I've taken a different approach

    i) Rank the site better by purchasing a links package from the services section (all suggestions appreciated)

ii) I looked up the contact details for the webmaster with a whois search, and spoke to the website owner - he was surprised that I called. I calmly asked him to remove the material - he refused. I asked him to at least give a link to my website (so at least I get some juice). He agreed to a link. I'll wait a few days and see if I get the link.

This guy has an established website full of material he's copied. He makes a few very minor changes, and labels it his own work.

I'm also considering banning Indian IPs from my website. I've never had any adsense revenue from them anyway.

Make sure you always put a full URL linking back within your articles, won't stop them nicking it but you might get a link out of it!

If you get a link just include that site as part of your link campaign but it with two tier links

Thank you for the advice. It's not just the articles, but the Excel spreadsheets I distributed with the articles took a lot of time to develop. Next time I'll just password protect the VBA

That is really screwy to hear someone rip you off. Just keep up your work so the Search Engines recognize your work as the original and penalize the copier.
