As the title says, would they penalize me? The niche is botting stuff and the posts would also be regarding that.

Sounds like a really bad idea. Why associated your domain with something that clearly has a bad reputation from the start ? Just my thoughts on it.

If you're looking to provide info about bots there's no problem using the word bot in the domain. Just Google "bot software" and look how many websites are ranking with bot in the domain, URL, and title tags.

Domain name should not be an issue. Robot has the word bot in it. Doesn't mean robotics is a bad choice to make a website about.

It should not be an issue and a concern. If you think it will help to present your domain in a better way then do it. It's good to have the keyword in the domain name if you can use it properly.

i think it wouldn't penalize if you write you article in ethical way.

That's the key, I think. I have been warned by Adwords before for using words like "hack" in my site. They do not like unethical stuffs. The domain name could be anything sane, that's not the real issue. Content is what you should take care about.

Non issue.

I can register google sucks and get it rank, until manual review

A website with the domain gizbot.com is ranking so well without any penalty or anything. There are also thousands of websites with the word "bot" in their domain without any problems with big G.

So yeah, Google and other search engines wouldn't give you any problems if you have the word "bot" in your domain.
