I was wondering what the negatives** would be of using a VPN service like Airvpn, Ironsocket etc., all the time. I have only used VPN's like this when I needed them in the past, but I never noticed an issue with speed or anything of that nature.

Is there anyone who uses there VPN service all the time? And if anyone does, is there any negatives to it vs. benefits using your standard IP address, whatever type it may be, would have.

    Thanks!!

PS I googled this already, did not find too much.

Can't see why their would be any negatives, if it is unlimited usage.

Let's say you use an IP from the vpn that's been abused on FB. If you ever login with that IP on facebook then there's a chance where they could ban your account. Of course this is the worse-case scenario but using a vpn to login to personal accounts isn't a good idea IMO.

Paypal got a good list of VPN / Proxy IPs, so you might run into trouble if you log into your own paypal account with a VPN IP

I was actually under the impression VPNs are mostly used to run tools that your normal rig wouldn't be able to handle 24/7 due to electricity costs, bandwidth issues, etc.

If you just want it for IP purposes, why not just use a private proxy or something?

The highest use of VPN's is with a proxy for anonymity without losing speed etc., among other things. Maybe you are thinking of something else.

There was one person on here who supposedly had their HostGator (don't any of you start up again with the "HostGator sucks" posts :)) account banned because because they created the account with a VPN, so I suppose that's one disadvantage if it's true.

no matter how fast a VPN is, tunnelling all your internet traffic through a VPN will always slow down the speed of your connection more or less

if there's no serious reason, it's not advised/there is no need to use a VPN all the time
