Over the past 12 months or so the level of scamming has gone through the roof.

I do not come here often now and when I do all I see are people trying to scam.

    Why?

Looser Morals? IM becoming more widespread and well known? Less stringent moderation?

    Any/All of the above?

Not sure where the scams are happening but I don't see it in the BST threads. Are you pertaining to the "hire a freelancer" or JV section?

Well IM is becoming more widespread for sure. It is becoming harder to make money as internet companies are getting better at pushing spam out. We are always innovating, but I don't think it is as easy now. When there is no bread the people turn on one another...

You are probably hanging around with wrong people mate... I'm here for three years, usually making from 10 to 30 transactions daily, and never had a feeling that things changed extremely.

I mean, there are scammers, as always, but you just have to know how to ignore them and focus on the good guys who are here.

There aren't more scams at all. Scamming has been around for years and it's not like BHW attracts more than anywhere else (contrary to popular belief).

Unlike the majority of forums, BHW polices its members and has a relatively unique shit list section. People are actively encouraged to out scammers (unlike places like warrior forum where you are banned for doing it) so over time people have become more accepting of the section and are more likely to post than before as they know the moderators will come to a resolution.

So no, I don't think there are more scams, I just think people are becoming more open to talking about it when they are ripped off rather than just letting it ride.

If there are more scams, I'd imagine that's due to the state of the world economy in general. A lot of people are struggling, so unfortunately many choose to rip people off in order to feed their family etc.

I've done $XXX,XXX in business on BHW and have "only" been ripped off for about $6k, which as a percentage really isn't too bad considering the industry we're in.

I havent seen any change in scamming. I have been here for years and there have been scams every now and then - I have been lucky enought to avoid them.... There is scams in every forum where cash is involved!

Did you got scammed by yourself or why do you think there is more scammers around than before?

JV's section and dropshipping (about 90% scam )

I do think BH forum naturally attracts more...........unethical people than say a church web site.

So you mean the JV in which you have to believe in an invisible creature and have to pay money in order to get profit (heaven) after you die? ;) Now what's the biggest scam :p

Numbers are relative, bhw growth is phenomenal...more members mean more chances of scams, but you said it yourself, you don't come at bhw more often. I suggest you take time to be more proactive in helping and reporting violating posts or threads, then maybe you won't complain as much...

I'm also rarely here anymore, but I haven't noticed any more or less scammers since 2008 to now. What has gone up is the number of new members. More inexperienced people looking to get rich quick means more opportunity for scammers to take advantage.
