    Hi guys,

I'm looking to get rid of hostgator baby plan simply because I don't want to host my websites with others one. I'm looking to go for a good VPS alternative which will handle good amount of visitors. How can I determine how much power do I need for a VPS?

    Thanks

Let us know how many visitors and how also how many users will be on simultaneously ... perhaps you don't need a VPS.

I have many sites with say +2k hits a day on just a powerful shared plan.
It also saves me quite alot of money now. More spec you give us the better guys on here can help.

I'm thinking making 100 websites for niches (usually low searches, maximum 10.000 local monthly). I think will be good traffic...

Yeah just get some shared hosting... thinking it will be good traffic and having good traffic is two different things.

Just try shared hosting, and you'll know when you need to upgrade. Take a look at stablehost, they offer good shared hosting. I've tried a good few shared hosts and this is the best so far for me. Hostwinds also might be a good choice but I've never tried their shared hosting so I can't comment.

Do you have any idea how large you expect the each website to be? As you are planning to host 100 Website so just think how much space each website will eat ... If you have a good budget then better way go for the vps instead of shared hosting. You will get more resources and freedom to handle all your website in the right manner.

I'm guessing he's "thinking" of making MNS or amazon sites!

If your running 100 autoblogs you may need a VPS like mentioned. You need to give more details for people to help you. Don't get a VPS unless you need it.

I have the same question so il just steal this thread instead of open a new one.

Im having around 50 sites at the moment.
A mix of adsense, magento and amazon sites.

No extreme amount of visitors, at the moment im on a hostgator business plan but im starting to make enough money that I want to get some quality hosting.
Looking to have atleast 10 IPs.

What I want is speed and reliability, any recommendations?

If you can tell me how many websites you are going to host, what kind of traffic are you expecting, what kind of space you need, based on that I can give you a perfect configuration. Alternatively you can checkout Host the Name's VPS plans. Google around and you will find some 50% off coupons.

Get your own vps and install xampp for windows on it, if you do not want to mess with linux distros. It is relative easy to implement this.
