What service do you use for site uptime monitoring?
uptimerobot is alright for basic monitoring. Doesn't fit our needs, though, as we need to monitor lots more than just a single site/server, so we're using Nagios, which monitors everything, not just uptime.
Since it's free..
I use a few others but those two do what I need.
Pingdom and Status Cake.
Uptime Robot is very unreliable and inaccurate. Lots of false alerts and it checks every 5 minutes so if a site goes down only for 10-20 seconds it will alert you that it was down for 5 minutes. This affects a lot the reported uptime.
pingdom and uptimerobot on my small vps.
I use pingdom mostly.
Pingdom works great for me.
You can also try the software Anturis which is a cloud-based tool for site uptime monitoring. What i like about the software is that it offers troubleshooting to the issues and if you are really puzzled about what can be done it is an excellent opportunity to soir everything out.
Pingdom is time proven. Why would you need to try anything else.
