    Hey everyone,

So i'd like to ask just a quick question which is,

I'm going to buy a domain name and want to build a site that can earn me some decent money (don't we all) and so wondered what sort of site i should go for?

I'm not asking for niche ideas or anything like that just asking what kind of site.

    Thanks :)

The question is:waht kind of bussiness do you want?
I mean, are you going to sell something? Will be an adsense site? CPA advertsisement?

First of all you must kno what kind of content do you are able to create and what knoledge od website design do you have...there are too meny considerations to say what you must do whit so less information you give us...

Find something that you are interested in or passionate about, find out which is the best way to monetize that and TAKE ACTION.

I suppose that's really what i was asking, what kind of buisness would you all suggest?

Thing is, I have a few ideas for niches and content shouldn't really be a problem for these niches.

I don't know anything of web design, in the past i simply slapped a wordpress theme on it.

    Thanks to everyone for answering.

well is it going to be updated constantly like a blog or a static page like a micro niche?
the site gets built around the idea and or keyword.
if the niche is in a changing market like technology then maybe a blog
if its in a market that hasn't changed much in years maybe a static page
and then suit the advertising to the page

haha.. and I joined few minutes ago.

Anyway, I'm no way an expert or something, but what knowledge/skill you have?
do you want to offer information about certain topic?
then content site monetized with adsense/affiliate is a great option
have skill and want to offer your service?
then create a site to sell your skill.

however, for new people (I'm not saying you are new, I'm newer then you for sure), implementing the knowledge and skill by building content sites with adsense/affiliate is the common way to start it all.

These are the type of niche sites I'm working at right now:

    Adsense
    Amazon
    Clickbank

These in my opinion are the best avenues to start out with. Amazon in particular, because of the trust factor. I target product keywords and people looking for solutions. Basically go where people are already spending money and are just looking for that last piece of information before the purchase. Product description/review type sites are the easiest to write content for, and is probably going to be your biggest hurdle unless you outsource.

It depends what you are trying to sell. I'll assume its related to advertising/affiliate related stuff.

With that being said here is what I would do. You should create a blog/news/community based website. The niche you want to aim for is something that is in development and not very popular yet. What I mean by this is for example: an upcoming game, an upcoming movie, an upcoming tv show etc. Basically anything that is not yet popular but will be in the future once the product/movie/tv show goes live. The reason I suggest this is because you want to be early to the game to get the best domain name and to rank high for the prime keywords. Once the product goes live you'll be at the top and when everyone starts searching for the product related keywords they'll go straight to your site. Meanwhile, all the newcomers to the scene will have already been beat out by you.

I suggest movies/tv shows because they are so popular and everyone goes online to read up about them. An upcoming game might also be a good choice since players will continually play the game and will constantly be doing searches. MMORPGs are especially good for this.

You can make a decent income by doing this. Rinse and repeat the process of doing this. Making micro niche community based sites for upcoming products. Make sure you do good SEO for these projects. I'd recommend buying links from other sites.

You can make even more money by developing your own unique product/service and selling it to consumers.

Wow, has it been that long? lol. It's a long story actually, I was just starting to get an hang of things back then but an illness put stop to that. It's been a long battle but i'm ok now so wanted to get back to were I was. I havn't been keeping up with things over the last few years though so thought I'd check see what kind of ways others are monetizing their sites first.

Thanks everyone for the answers so far, some good ideas and info in them.. and theres me thinking people didn't help each other anymore.. Cheers

Build a website around a passion of yours, because you can bet your money, that you will work a few months for free, even more. So, at least you should be doing something you like and doesn't seem like a weight on your shoulders. I said before and i will say it again, build a business for which you are willing to work for free.

The starbucks owner, worked 3 years with no profit. For 3 years he didn't made a 1 cent in profit. Yet, thanks to his perseverence he made that company profitable and now is the biggest coffee shop in the world. So, be prepared to work for nothing.

    All the best.
