What type of backlinks is best for a youtube video?

What type of backlinks is best for a youtube video? I am currently doing youtube+ppd but i am struggling to rank youtube videos.I am experimenting different types of backlinking method to improve my rankings.
These are the things i did:
  • Bookmarked my video with social poster
  • Embed my video in high pr web 2.0 sites(wordpress,blogger etc) Pinged them, submitted the rss feed to rss sites and pinged those too.
After doing the above my video ranking remains unchanged even after a week.So what type of backlinks works for you in youtube ranking?

What I believe is, that the google algorythm for ranking youtube videos is absolutely random.
It's like throwing a sh*t against the wall and trying to make it stick.
I tried pretty much everything, social bookmarks, scrapebox, senuke, embedding, wikis, forum profiles, web 2.0 pyramids, other yt videos pointing to mine, you name it.
But some videos ranked and some are still somewhere on page 4 - 5 without any signs of improving.
There are videos ranking on the 1st spot of google with 0 to 20 backlinks, which are of a pretty poor quality, yet I have over 800 backlinks and I am not even on page 3 and it's been so for at least a month.
So my conclusion is, either I am an idiot (which is possible really) or that algorythm is just random.
 
Sometimes I will aslo take the found links from scrapebox and add them to my linklicious account to get them indexed quicker.

I also had a small doubt but now you have confirmed it, i once had a video in first page with just keyword optimization.So i guess backlinking for youtube video is not of much use
 
That's not true, it is of use, but some videos just rank and some just don't. So you have to try more.

So which form of backlinking do you suggest, Social bookmarking,wikis or web 2.0?
 
Digg,mixx,facebook,twitter backlinks work exceptionally well for youtube videos.If you want better ranking at Youtube videos itself, you'll have to get some views, comments and rankings for your video initially.spread it in public.popularity is a significant key in google's algorithm,i believe.
 
I was trying retweets in a pretty big number and they didn't help whatsoever.
